Our Story

What do other homeschools look like? What is the best curriculum? How do I create a routine without recreating “school”? These were the questions I sought to answer when we decided to homeschool back in 2009.

I was quickly drawn to the Classical Method of learning, but never wanted to limit myself, or our homeschool, to just one method. Replace one box with another one? No thank you! Over time I have learned what works for my personality, as well as my kids’ and have been able to simplify and streamline our homeschool over the years.

I don’t have a gazillion kids, but with just my 3 this last year I was teaching Kindergarten, Middle School, and High school. Whew! It can get tricky to juggle multiple ages and subjects throughout the year. But as I have found, it is totally doable! Thankfully it doesn’t start out this way (usually).

Something I found out about myself is that I love to research! Now having several years of homeschooling under my belt, I am more confident about what I want for my homeschool and I am eager to share it with others. Hearing others express fears, concerns, and overwhelm about homeschooling it brings me back to my early days. My desire is to help save time, energy, and heartache for the next person. No reason to reinvent the wheel.
